Myntra-Jabong CEO Ananth Narayan may resign after Binny Bansal’s Flipkart exit

New Delhi: In a surprising development with regard to the management reshuffle in homegrown e-commerce giant Flipkart this week, another buildout has surfaced that Myntra-Jabong CEO Ananth Narayan is likely to quit from the post after Binny Bansal’s resignation as CEO of Flipkart Group. According to a Business Standard report, Ananth Narayan, CEO of Myntra and Jabong, may step down from the post following the changes in reporting structure of Flipkart. “The change in the reporting structure is a precursor to the integration of Myntra and Jabong with the larger Flipkart Fashion unit,” Business Standard reported citing unidentified sources.

According to various media reports, there Ananth Narayan is having an alleged conflict with Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy. Following the Binny Bansal’s exit, Walmart said that Ananth Narayanan will remain the CEO of Myntra and Jabong and report to Kalyan Krishnamurthy.

Flipkart ex-CEO Binny Bansal is going through an independent investigation in connection to alleged “serious personal misconduct” by him. According to a Bloomberg report, Binny Bansal and the woman has a consensual affair. However, Binny Bansal has strongly denied of the charges related to the case.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, Binny Bansal stepped down as CEO of Flipkart Group, with immediate effect. After the resignation submission by Binny Bansal, Walmart stated: “While the investigation did not find evidence to corroborate the complainant’s assertions against Binny, it did reveal other lapses in judgement, particularly a lack of transparency, related to how Binny responded to the situation.
