Why is Salman Khan worried about Bharat?

3 min read

Salman Khan’s Bharat has been making the right noise ever since the project was announced. Apart from Salman, the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial stars Katrina Kaif, Tabu and Disha Patani.

An official remake of Korean film An Ode To My Father, Bharat depicts the history of India through the life of an ordinary man and spans sixty years. No doubt, the film is intended to be a long one as it has to include songs and dances. If sources are to be believed, Salman is worried about the length of Bharat.

A source told a portal, “While a film’s length in the earlier days used to be close to three hours, a shorter film was always not considered ‘paisa vasool’ for the audiences. With the advent of the multiplexes and new generations, films now need to be compact. Salman is said to be playing multiple characters in the film.
Unlike other films being made today, Bharat is a story told over many years.

“There will be flashbacks and references to the pre-Independence era in the film, which cannot be told in a jiffy because it will take away from the storytelling. And then you need the songs and dances for the typical Salman audiences, who want their star not just to fight, but also show his swag. Hence the length will be longer,” the source said.

In order to deal with the problem, apparently Salman wants the film to be shortened, as he feels the audience gets bored with a long film. However, Ali Abbas Zafar does not want the film to get chopped at the wrong segments. According to reports, the film is over three hours long, and Salman wants it to be 2.5 hours.https://www.indiatoday.in/movies/bollywood/story/why-is-salman-khan-worried-about-bharat-1378530-2018-10-30
